Hey Lightfault, welcome to the group!

I wanted to start to fiddle around Red5 but I was wondering:
1. Should I run it on Win32 on *nix ?
2. Where can I get a *stable working* Eclipse plug-in to write decent
applications ?
3. How hard is it to find documentation about Red5 and working it out

1. For development purposes Win32 on a workstation is just fine. Set up your Red5 in eclipse where you can start, stop and debug your applications. For Win32 (i have it running on my Mac) there should be a installer for the server somewhere.

2. The red5 Plugin for eclipse under http://trac.red5.org/chrome/site/projects/red5plugin/update_0.2.x/ works fine with eclipse jee 3.4.2 ganymede. I had trouble with newer eclipse versions, so I used the older eclipse build 3.4.2 especially for red5 development.

3. I think there are a few good tutorials out there, but often two or more years old. I spent so much time just setting up the server on my Mac because I didn't find any good and helpful documentation. There are a few good videos on youtube though, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01Q-e9KyOmY for example, could be useful for you.
