Hi Stephan, Thanks for the testing. I'll now merge this change into OSG-2.8.
On the http request side, thanks to changes made to osgDB::Regisitry it is actually now possible for other plugins to handle http requests. All you need to do is preload the quicktime plugin and then it will have chance to handle the file. The quicktime plugin might need to be tweaked to allow for http files not to be search locally for, but may well work. Could you try this? Robert.
