Reading up  on the issue it looks like QPointer<HeartBeat> is the way to tackle 
the automatic deletion of the HeatBeat object.  With this change I have merged 
and checked into svn/trunk and the OSG-3.4 branch.   Could you please check out 
either of these and let me know how you get on.
