Unfortunately today I'll be out all the day ... but actually the 'access violation' happens not on makeCurrent(.) but on the next instruction: (*itr)->runOperations();

Crashing in makeCurrent doesn't really tell me enough to diagnose the problem. Could you do a debug build and test to see where above the crash occurs.
