Hi OSG users, Loic Dachary has just uploaded a new openscenegraph package (2.2.0-2) into Debian unstable. Some tweaks were added, which should address some performance issues reported lately.
Thanks to the kind folks of <http://www.parisc-linux.org/>, we also got access to an HP-PA machine to debug the build failure that started to happen on this architecture with the 1.9.x series, which is a missing -mlong-calls compile option (more details in [1,2]). 1. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=425837 2. http://ikibiki.org/blog/2007/10/10/Linking_on_hppa/ For the records, that prevented the openscenegraph package to migrate into the Debian testing distribution, which should normally happen 10 days after the package is uploaded, if there is no release critical bug and if the package is built on all platforms. Hopefully, this revision will migrate without troubles now that the above-mentioned bug is solved. One can track which version is available for which architecture and distribution on [3], and the status of the build for each architecture on [4]. The delay before the packages appear on the mirrors shouldn't exceed some days, depending on the considered architecture. 3. http://packages.debian.org/openscenegraph 4. http://buildd.debian.org/~jeroen/status/package.php?p=openscenegraph (Note that neither m68k or hurd-i386 are taken into account for the testing migration.) I hope everything's fine with this upload. Cheers, -- Cyril Brulebois, comaintainer.
