In regards to the SockStream object, it would be good if the rewrite could 
address some of the issues that arise with its current implementation. Namely 
that its read cylce is dependent on an EOF marker being present in the file to 
indicate when the end of the stream has been encountered. My experiences with 
performing .Net loading of remote objects such as .3DS is that this is not 
always present. Whether as a consequence of the file format, or the server, the 
sockstream had great difficulty in handling this. 

For completeness, I got around this by looking at the "Content-Length" node of 
the header block returned in the readNode function of the .Net ReaderWriter 
object. Knowing the length of the content seemed to provide a more robust test 
for terminating the read.
