Hi Neil and Michael, It may be possible to back port the new changes to the OpenFlight plugin to 1.2 as most of the core scene graph is similar, but it requires work to do the initial port then there is the issue about ongoing maintenance. I am not about to go volunteer to administer such a awkward maintenance job as have more than enough work on my plate, but as it's all be open source does make it possible for you to maintain a branch.
However, perhaps the best workaround would be to export your models to 1.2 .ive and then use a 2.x version of osgconv to do the conversion from 1.2 .ive to .flt. All the 2.x libs and plugins are versioned so it should be possible to mix. It's certainly not an idea solution but it might give you something to trial without the need for branch the 2.x code base.
