On my main system:
osgviewer glsl_simple.osg
...is broke in 2.8.5 and runs fine in both 2.8.3 and 2.8.4, so I'll look into
why/how this broke. This is not the kind of bug we want to include in a release.
2.8.5 is on hold until this in investigated and resolved.
