Until now, I render the video in a texture as you suggest and that works well. The problem is that my 3D scene is quite complex (for the iPad ;) ) so the framerate is not so good... Thus I came up with this idea in order to display directly the video preview layer at 30 fps. I think we can tolerate if the rendering of the scene is not perfectly smooth, as long as the video behind is. Anyway I will try your suggestion as soon as possible. Be sure I'll give you some feedback then!
