Haven't had a look at opengl.org in a long time so when the
original post on this topic mentioned it, I decided to have a look. Just
in a whim, I clicked on the "Recent OpenGL Job postings. Lo & behold,
there we have at the 7th entry down, a job for "3D Software Engineers -
OpenGL ES and JSR184 drivers" at our current favourite card company,
ATI.
I know this is for their handheld stuff, but hopefully the work
will spill over into the desktop devices and as a result there will be
some better drivers.
On a slightly different note, could handhelds be the saviour for
OpenGL? If memory serves me correctly a lot of companies are looking at
Linux and OpenGL for future handheld devices. If this is the case,
OpenGL should hopefully once again get some decent support.
