On the wiki
(http://www.openscenegraph.org/index.php?page=UserGuides.Osgdem)
there's
a -m option listed, which should allow to specify an input model
to use
for the ground.
I see this option is commented out in both 1.0 and the latest cvs.
Is there still a way to use an existing model of ground geometry that
osgdem can use to generate a paged log version?
No, osgdem (or osgTerrain which does all the work) do not support
adding in extenal models into a database.
I only have a square tile of ground, with some height variation
and one
squre input texture completely covering the ground...
The way to insert external models in right now is to generate a
database, then post process the tiles of interest adding in/modifying
the geometry.
