Hi Leo, You've got the just of it, PagedLOD pages its LOD's in from disk on demand, all the loading is done in background thread, and load balanced to ensure constant frame rates.
I'd recommend you build you own paged databases. See the osgdem tutorial on the OSG wiki. Also just search the mailing list archives for the word PagedLOD, its a heavily used, and often discussed OSG feature. Robert. On 6/23/06, Leo Orlandini <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
hello everybody, I'm picking up informations about OSG because it is at the base of my thesis... I have to understand exactly what pagedLOD are... going upon what I've found I've understand that (1) all informations about a LOD are stored in a SINGLE file (2) pagedLOD extends LOD in the manner of storing its parts... in the sense that a pagedLOD could be split into different files... is it right?!? can anybody explain to me the peculiarity of pagedLOD class?!?! thanks Leo _________________________________________________________________ Bolletta del telefono pesante?
