Ok, it looks like we need to dig even further down in the code to
change yet another unsigned int to GLuint.

Could you try a cvs update?

I think that did the trick. Things are compiling.

I think perhaps the best thing is to keep the code clean and document
the fact the Debian stable has a old version of giflib, which needs
replacing with libungif.  We can't go running around trying to hack
around problems on every combination of platforms out there


If there is a simple preprocessor solution that lets us version check
and drop in #error, then its probably worth it since it would benefit
everybody the same, but in the absense of knowing a simple
preprocessor solution, I agree we should just drop the issue.
