Hi Mike,

I just submitted a patch to BlendFunc that fixed the osgpointsprite artifact.

ok, I saw the cool new outlined text in the updated osglogo, and unfortunately
it looks pretty bad on ATI graphics, see attached.

(I realize this is an ATI problem, but we have to deal with it. Is it worth the
possible bad impression for OSG's premier branding demo to use a rendering
technique that looks so bad on such a widely deployed configuration of graphics
hw?)

The artifact is alpha texels or blending don't function properly at certain
distances and view angles, the result being obvious flashing of white inside the
blue letters. tested on:

GL_RENDERER "MOBILITY RADEON 9600 x86/SSE2"
GL_VERSION "2.0.5279 WinXP Release"
(an older driver on a laptop, so difficult to update driver)

GL_RENDERER "RADEON X800 PRO x86/SSE2"
GL_VERSION "2.0.5885 WinXP Release"
(desktop system with the latest driver downloaded *today*)

FWIW osglogo looked great with a NV GeForce 6200.

Similar edge effects also occur during osgpointsprite on ATI, see attached.
