I've built it fine on Kubuntu AMD64 - Dapper Drake, and I had no problems.
My French isn't very good, but Google comes up with:
Unexpected end of file, error close to doif

This sounds like a makefile problem, but they're mostly unfathomable to
me. A couple of problems I've had with makefiles in the past are:
a) Make sure you have root priviledges to /usr/bin (or wherever the .so
files live). This can be done with sudo make install
b) Make sure your version of make is up to date. I'm not sure what version
it expects, and I'd imagine make ./configure would've picked it up
c) Check the makefile isn't corrupted somehow. My memory fails me, do we
have MD5 sums (or similar) for the tarballs? Try downloading it again.
