I solved handling the differences on the application side.

BTW does anybody know if there is a newer War Breaker specification than
version 1 Draft 10? The document mentions the handling of marking text
and infrared & radar signatures as a future extension. Are there any
other (de facto) standards for retrieving state, articulation,
attachment and weapon effects data (for instance node naming
conventions)?

kind regards,

Roland Smeenk

parsing

ah War Breaker, that was a cool project.

a quick skim of the World Reference Model Entity Flight Specification
(WRM EFS) from http://www.multigen-paradigm.com/support/dc_files/wrm.pdf
or http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/dataformats/wrm/

"The articulated part's Group bead comment field may consist of several
lines, each starting with the "@dis" keyword. The first line is a DIS
Articulated Part Type Specification. The additional lines are DIS
Articulated Part Motion Type Specifications, each assigned to a single
line. There must be a DIS Articulated Part Motion Type Specification for
each motion that is allowable for the articulated part."

Rather than one correct behaviour, Id expect the translation from flt
file to internal scenegraph representation is somewhat
implementation-dependent.

Cheers
