Hello guys,
Long time no OSG – but that might change soon though :)

HI Bart. Long time no talk.

The idea is to make a flat (pizza box like) aluminum casing which holds the complete hardware solution: LCD screen, side/line buttons, power supply, and an embedded computer. This box would then be "Velcro-ed" on top of the primary flight display in the cockpit simulator and it would get its flight information via the flight lab Ethernet network.

I have some experience with building embedded (Linux based) systems, but never one that included accelerated 3D graphics requirements. So I am looking for some input on hardware solutions which would be able to support my goal.

I have briefly Google-ed for single board computers (SBC) which have descent OpenGL support and accelerated graphics (e.g. AR-B1891 with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000), but I wanted to also check if anyone else in the OSG community has actually done something similar or has a good idea on these sort’s of embedded real-time graphics applications.

Do you have size requirements sorted out? I expect you could find a 1U rack unit and find some devious way to jam a real (NVidia) graphics card into it.

Much appreciated!
Cheers
~Bart
