For your curiosity, we did this poll a couple of years ago and the results were surprising (even to us). In round numbers as memory serves, it was about 45% windows, 45% Linux and 10% other (MacOSX, IRIX, Solaris, HP-UX).
I can resurrect that poll if everyone is interested.

The free version is limited to 10 questions/100 responses per survey. I
don't know if that means it stops accepting responses after 100 replies
or you can only send it to 100 people.
Thanks for the link. The 100 people response is a bit of problem, that means only 7% of the community could vote, going for the professional option of $20/month would get us up to 1000 responses, which probably enough, is still only 2/3rd of the community.
I hope this doesn't give Don ideas aboutt charging :-)
