Hello,

I am a PhD student at the HIT Lab in New Zealand (www.hitlabnz.org). We are a research lab run by Dr Mark Billinghurst, who undertook pioneering work with ARToolKit while at the University of Washington.

We are actively developing OSGART, a library that integrates OpenSceneGraph with ARToolKit. The focus of our library is to simplify the development of interactive augmented reality applications. One of my colleagues, Philip Lamb, gave a presentation about OSGART at the OSG Birds-of-a-Feather session at SIGGRAPH this year. A copy of the presentation is on the OSG site:

http://www.openscenegraph.org/osgwiki/uploads/Documentation/osgbof_siggraph2006_HITLabNZ_OSGART.pdf

We are currently preparing to release OSGART under a dual-license scheme on November 20th. The library will be made available at www.artoolworks.com. In the meantime, if you have any questions about it, feel free to email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks,

Hello Fernando,

You might want to take a look at the amire(authoring mixed reality) project,
it does a whole lot more than what you want, but it definitely has an
ARToolkit + OSG integration …

The last time I worked on the project has been three years ago, so I'm not sure what happened to it afterwards … but you can find it in sourceforge:

http://amire.sourceforge.net/

I hope that helps,

Best

Frank

 Subject: [osg-users] OSG + ARToolkit

Hi,
I've been looking for how to integrate OSG and ARToolkit. And it seems
to work. But I couldn't find any tip in the mailing-list archive.
I need to grab the image using a cam, show it in a SceneView window. I
read that it can be done using a billboard ou TextureRectangle ou even a
[EMAIL PROTECTED], but I can't figure out how to do that.
Can you help me a little?

Thanks
 Fernando.
