Hi Tony,
Have you tried non NVidia cards?
Its a long shot, but there is known problems with NVidia under Windows
due to a driver bug. See earlier email about vrjuggler.
The CVS version of the OSG has a workaround in place. The symptoms
are identical but some of the pattern of the problem is similiar.
There is no major difference way the OSG renders between 1.0 and 1.2,
so its curious that a driver bug should be rear its head in this way,
that has been *lots* of discussion on this topic over the last two
months, so check the archives for NVidia & bug.

Hi all,
I've just ported my app from OSG 1.0 to 1.2 (I know I should have
ported sooner but I didn't!) and now my application runs really slowly.
I'm running windows xp on a geforce go 6800. The app uses the fox
toolkit for the gui, some 3d textures, glsl and basic rendering. I use a
sceneview to control the rendering, etc. On version 1.0 everything is
fine and I get real-time interaction, I've just downloaded 1.1 to see if
that exhibits the problem and it does, rendering is so slow that I
wonder if I've gone down a software rendering path? I have another
fox-osg app and that works fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not fox, I have
a similar app in MFC and that runs slowly also, so the problem is either
in my code or something that was introduced in osg 1.1. I've also ran a
few of the osg examples and they all run fine, including the 3d texture
stuff and the osgshaders example.
I've tried a number of different graphics card drivers but to no avail.
I'm obviously about to delve into the deeper aspects of it, but if
someone can suggest anything that may give me a clue I would very much
appreciate it.
If I fix it in the meantime, I'll let you know.
Thanks,
Tony.
