Hi Chase, Having people use the CVS version of the OSG is good for the project as it allows us to get feedback on new API's, implementations and detect bugs before they make it into a final dot release.
However, the CVS might not always compile, and bugs may come and go, so to make the best of it you need to ping the list about any problems so they can be fixed as soon as possible. That being said the quality of the CVS is generally pretty good, it typically has bug fixes that aren't in the previous release, and there are all the new features. So if you need the new features, need specific bug fixes, and can cope with a little compile issue now and then, then CVS is the way too go, and it helps the project too. If you require more stability in compile than CVS requires then stick with the last release. Robert. On 11/7/06, Bradford, Chase <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
My group is updating our OSG project, and we want to bring it up to date with the best version of OSG to date. So, should we use what is currently CVS or just release 1.2? We know there have been some changes to the library since September, but we aren't sure of the risk vs. reward.
