Hi
I'm still a bit of a newbie at the whole graphics industry, but I'm
trying to integrate OSG with is multiple window capability using
Producer with the terrain generation of VTP (vtterrain).
Which part ov VTP project are you referring? vterrain is a 2d app,
Enviro is the 3d part
1) Is this a possibility and are there any examples of the combination
of both applications?
We went down that path a bit:
Enviro is a wonderful tool for adding culture data to terrain, it uses
internally OSG,
it lacks paging support for terrains,
OSGdem can build paged terrains, we tried to combine the two by sligtly
modifying Enviro to let it load terrains generated by osgdem
and to export culture layers in .osg or .ive formats
The main problem I'm having is how to add the terrain scene to the
osgProducer viewer, is this possible?
In our schema:
1) build paged terrain with osgdem,
2) load paged terrain into modified Enviro, load culture data, build the
scenery
3) export culture data into separate .osg files
4) you can load all the component in osgviewer or in any other
application like
osgviewer osgdem_page_terrain.ive roads.ive trees.ive
buildings.ive.......
2) Should VTP used as the top layer coder with OSG as the base level
which is accessed via VTP?
Do you mean using VTP libraries inside a new app? We did not tried that
path, but should be possible....
Just our experience... others better qualified can add info.
