I know not all cases are right for static use, but I just wanted to make the case that it does work, has many benefits, and I wish more people would try it out.
In practice, the space-saving and currentness advantages that dynamic linking has always promised have basically backfired as people try to circumvent the very commonness that was supposed to be advantageous. :(
