The scene is initially loaded then data from a file generates more nodes
for the scene. I have already explicitly been calling requestRedraw
through qosgwidget, which does an updateGL() on its side. So, I guess
what I'm asking is how do I accomplish something similar with
osgsimpleviewerqt3?

Thanks,

When are you adding/removing things? I'd recommend you do this from the
update phase of the viewer (ie. subclass from SimpleViewer and overrride
SimpleViewer::frameUpdateTraversal), or by explictly calling the redraw
of the window yourself.

Robert.
