Sounds like it might simply be the EXE cannot find the DLL

I would make sure that the Directory where the MSVCP80.DLL is in your PATH
environment variable as that's my guess to your problem

error message you have. At least Google doesn't return any topic
about "discreteness" and VS8. As Robert said, your local MSDN pages could be

absence of the MSVCP80 DLL. Make sure that file is in your path or in the
