Just to follow up, Mark, I've upgraded drivers and tested with no changes.
I am, however, running a 7800 card, not the 8800.

I've just checked in a change that disables both vsync and testVSync for
RenderSurface_X11. In light of the fact that card manufacturers are now
putting a cpu block in SwapBuffers, this call is now redundant. I'm still
quite opposed to this because of the detrimental effect this has on single
threaded applications with multiple windows/contexts. But whatcha gonna do?

Yeah, I noticed that. Something is definitely not right there.

Now that the 1.0-9746 drivers are released, maybe someone with something
other than an 8800 nvidia card can try running a Producer app and let us
know if it hangs in the same spot. I wonder if it's an 8800 issue or an
issue for all nvidia cards.

We've seen this before.

Here's an interesting question. Why is NodeVisitor being called from
libGLcore ? That looks suspiciously like a corrupt function pointer or
something.
