Thanks for doing the testing.
The osgslice example requires RGBA and from your glxinfo I could see
that it only support RGB modes. To get this one to work you'd have to
change to a 32 colour depth rather than 16 bit that you have right
now. This is an X server configuration issue that the OSG itself
can't deal with.
