That's correct.  I have a P4 single core CPU.  With hyperthreading on, it
behaves like a dual core or dual CPU machine, and with it off, it's like a
single core.

 

I've updated to the current CVS versions and I'm currently rebuilding the
debug and release versions.  Apparently, there were a lot of modifications
that were checked in after I got a CVS update last night.  So, I wanted to
get those mods before I did any more debugging.  Also, I'm wondering if you
ever sleep.  :-)

Your P4 when hyper threading is disabled is effectively just a single core
machine, as its not a P4 D, is this right?
