Hi Tugkan,

Thanks for the test model reproducing the problem. I can see the
problem here when I move around the model.

Right now I have to put looking further into this issue aside as I
really have to get on with other work, and am simply spreading myself
too thinly to be able to keep all the different threads going at once.

Robert.

Hi Robert,

I've found out that the main reason of disappearing shadows is that
wrong texture was being applied. This seemed to point to the fact that
OSG gets confused about the attributes.

I've attached an osg file. There are 6 cows placed in two rows. If you
look at them from above and move the above row out of view then you
notice that the two cows at the bottom row change. Initially they are
unlit. When upper row of unlit cows are not in view they are become lit.

Here is the hierarchy:

             root
              |
---------------------------
| | | |
cow1 cow2 cow3 Mtrans
                           |
                         Group
                           |
                   ----------------
                   | | |
                  cow1 cow2 cow3

cow1, cow2 and cow3 have seperate statesets. cow1's state set has
renderBinMode INHERIT and the other two have USE. MTrans has a state set
too and it overrides GL_LIGHTING (turns it off).

The cows which change are the ones which do not have INHERIT renderbin mode.
