Mathias told me that osgViewer ist _not_ being used - apparently
there's sort of a generic viewer in one of these libraries:

quickstep: 18:12:05 /usr/local/src/FlightGear> ldd /opt/FlightGear/bin/fgfs |
grep -i osg
        libosgUtil.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libosgUtil.so (0x2866c000)
        libosgDB.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libosgDB.so (0x287c8000)
        libosgSim.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libosgSim.so (0x2883f000)
        libosg.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libosg.so (0x288e4000)
        libOpenThreads.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libOpenThreads.so (0x28b19000)
        libosgText.so => /opt/OSG/lib/libosgText.so (0x28e0c000)

Unfortunately 'fgfs' simply stops with nothing more than:

Program exited with code 0377.

Any suggestion on how to use GDB in such a case ?

Martin.
