This was my feeling. There's nothing like a very simple example to get you 
going!

Keeping the core OSG clean should be the priority. But I think the problem with 
the wiki
is that things get out of date very quickly, and out of sight, out of mind :)  
Having them 
part of an "extras" collection sounds good - keeps them at least up to date and 
compiling,
or dropped if no one is interested ...
