I would like to adatp CMake to the new layout of all the sets:
In order to do it is important to have idea of the suggested checkout layout, preferred dll names under different platforms and preferred installation paths.
It can be assumed that the common checkout layout is the following?
BASE_OSG_PATH
            OpenThreads
            OpenSceneGraph
            Producer
            osgProducer <--------------

Thanks
Luigi

Is the intent that osgProducer should be checked out as a sibling directory
to OpenThreads, OpenSceneGraph, and Producer? This will affect the include
and lib paths in the VS project files.

Subject: [osg-users] osgProducer now a separate project

Hi All,

Over the last couple of days Jose Luis Hidalgo has been helping me set up SVN and Tracs for the new osgProducer project, and this morning I got the new repository compiling separately from the core OSG:

To check out the osgProducer SVN:

   svn checkout
http://www.openscenegraph.com/svn/Producer/osgProducer/trunk
osgProducer

Browse the Producer/osgProducer Tracs pages:

   http://www.openscenegraph.com/projects/Producer

I have get osgProducer compiling under Linux, but there its likely that the VS build won't work till we add external dependencies of the OSG to the appropriate projects. Could a Windows expert jump in here and tweak the .dsp's to get things building.

I haven't ported across the Xcode projects as they aren't really human maintainable. Perhaps CMake can bridge this gap once we get a bit further with that side of things.

For email support on osgProducer you can continue to use osg-users and the Producer-users mailing lists.

When the next release of OpenSceneGraph is made I'll follow up with a formal release of osgProducer, we'll need to see how this meshes in with further evolution/releases of Producer.

I have also removed the include/osgProducer, src/osgProducer and applications/osgproducerviewer from the OpenSceneGraph distribution, and now touch wood should compile cleanly even without osgProducer and Producer being installed.

Those who work with SVN please test things out to make sure nothing has broke along the way.

Robert.
