I am working hard to minimize the number of essential external dependencies on the OSG. Moving osgProducer out of the OSG also removes the issue with circular dependencies that occurs if you wish to compile Don's ProducerOSG library. On the count of osgTerrain, its soon by built by default... but without the GDAL dependent parts.
