One level of SuSe Linux to another. 8.0 to 10.0 or something like that.
I'll try to get some code that fails and post it if it really seems OSG
related, otherwise I'll move to the wxForum.

I've got a similar application running on Win32 that uses osgText for
HUD like displays, as well as ~ 20 toolbars, which all works without a
problem. No wxMenu tho ...

What platform are you moving from / to?
