Hi,

I have been using ossimPlanet to develop an earth viewer running in
stereo. The manipulator I am currently using is ossimPlanetManipulator
which is great for navigating around the planet compared with the
TerrainManipulator that osgPlanet was using. My problem is that the
stereo separation increases significantly the closer I get to the earth
such that eventually the stereo pair gets swapped around leading to
crossed eyes and great viewer discomfort. What I would I had hoped would
happen in ossimPlanetManipulator was what happened in TerrainManipulator
as the viewer got closer to the surface of the earth, that is stereo
separation hardly changing and definitely no swapping of stereo pairs.

My question then is what can I do to correct the stereo separation with
ossimPlanetManipulator? I have tried adjusting the fusion distance value
for the manipulator to take into accound changes in viewer altitude but
that seems to be of no avail. If there are no straightforward fixes to
this problem my other question is should I be aware of any extra
functionality that is vital to the operation of ossimPlanetViewer that
ossimPlanetManipulator has and that TerrainManipulator doesn't?

Thanks to everyone for the insights on other subjects they've provided
in the past and thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Regards,

Chhiu-Linn Kaing
