As mentioned in my other mail, movie playback has worked for me everytime, not with all codecs, but with most of them. My experience was: if quicktime player can play the movie, the quicktime-plugin can it too.
In my own code I don't use the QuicktimeImageStream-class but my own to play movies singlethreaded to avoid tearing inside the movie-texture. But all other code is the same (most notably MovieData which does the hard work)
