Hi Bob, osgViewer::GraphicsWindowX11 does support graphics context sharing, but only if the other contexts are also GraphicsWindowX11 (or PixelBufferX11 in the SVN version of the OSG.)
Sharing in your own created windows will be possible, and in this case you'll need to use the same contexID for each graphics context. Be aware that sharing contexts only works when pixel formats are the same, and the context is running on the same physically graphics hardware. Also context switching in general should be avoid, and do context sharing may have little effect on swapping contexts, it depends upon the driver, your data and your app. Robert. Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE Can anyone advise me how to hook in 2 user defined XWindows to share a single user defined GLXContext? Alternatively, is there anyway for 2 internally created windows to share a single context? The context switch is way too expensive and our end users need to manage their own windows directly.
