All,

I have added Nitro [1] and PDAL [2] packages, and I will be doing my best to
maintain them for the foreseeable future. PDAL is my library for manipulating
point cloud data, and it is very much the conceptual cousin GDAL except for
point cloud data. It's kind of a giant box of not-well-documented stuff at this
point, but it is continuing to progress toward being moderately useful.

The Nitro package is based on my fork at http://github.com/hobu/nitro which
exports the API to a DLL to satisfy the LGPL linking requirement. PDAL uses
this to be able to write NITF-wrapped LAS files. They are the atrocity against
nature that you might think they are ....

If you have any PDAL-specific questions, please feel free to email me directly
or chat on the PDAL email list.

Howard
