Hello Raij,

you can easily create your own DS-Metamodel with the Eclipse EMF Tools. For a proof of concept you can prevent creating the whole OSGi metamodel. If you have the DS-Metamodel, you have following options:

- you can generate code by using a template engine (for example openArchitectureWare) - you can write a transformation from the DS-Metamodel to the Java5- Metamodel (created by the EMFText team) and then generate the code for the resulting Java5-Model

Fell free to write me PM.

Hi Peter,

Thank you so much for your reply, it has made it clear to me that transformation of model diagrams to OSGi code has not yet been implemented.

My aim is to make code generation simpler using GMF diagrams. I am working mainly for OSGi declarative services implmenation. For example, The tool which i am trying to develop will take a diagram which shows a component registering a service, and generate the OSGi skeleton code which will be OSGi-INF declarative xml file for registering the particular service.

I am not sure how i can join the two pieces(diagram-code) together. Please may you suggest me some ways i can go about this transformation to OSGi code.

Best Wishes

Raji

I am often having a hard time understanding what a model is and meta-
models seems to be one step further than that. We do not have anything
like this so far, however, it should be possible to develop this from
the specifications.

I've asked a friend of mine who has done work in this area (and is a
heavy promoter of meta-models) to contact you if he can help.

Kind regards,

Hi All,

I am working on the transformation of SoaML models to OSGi code. I
would like to know if the OSGi metamodel exists, or is it something
yet to be developed using the OSGi specifications?

 Thank you

 Best Wishes
