Chap 6 is a set of properties to be used by service implementors. There is nothing for the framework do to except provide the constants in o.o.f.Constants which it does.
Ch 6 does not require providing a distribution impl. If it did, then Ch 6 would be totally out of place in the core spec. -- BJ Hargrave Senior Technical Staff Member, IBM OSGi Fellow and CTO of the OSGi Alliance [email protected] office: +1 386 848 1781 mobile: +1 386 848 3788 From: David Bosschaert <[email protected]> To: OSGi Developer Mail List <[email protected]> Date: 2011/05/03 17:18 Subject: Re: [osgi-dev] Wikipedia OSGi spec page updated to Core 4.3 Sent by: [email protected] "A compliant OSGi Framework must at least implement chapters 3-9." Are you sure? Chapter 6 is the Remote Service spec. I'd love to see everyone implement that but I'd say it's optional :) Cheers, David On 3 May 2011 16:23, BJ Hargrave <[email protected]> wrote: Thanks for the update. Some of the specs were renumbered which made the edits a little awkward, but I've done my best to keep things clear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSGi_Specification_Implementations I've put in all the info I know but spec implementors, please check that the information is correct.
