Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply.

My project is destined for cross platform users and Windows has to be handled.
A lot of developers do not seem to want to recognize that windows exists!
As an example, recently I asked in a crypto discussion about a problem using Libsodium (Bernstein NaCl crypto) in a windows environment and the response was "can't help, I use OSX". I am not at all suggesting this is your attitude, just pointing out the uphill battle sometimes when trying to cover the cross platform requirement.

Paul

PS. Some groups insist on bottom posting, accept my apology if my top post
upsets you :-)

In asking about things like Java Service Wrapper for auto restart of an

I do not understand why there has not been more discussion about OSGi
restarts after a reboot as the normal (not developer) user of a system,
especially Windows, just expects the services to be available.

I tend to favour the native tools of my deployment platform.

So for Linux this may be a systemd unit file or sysv init script or
maybe something related to upstart ...

Thanks,

Robert
