As BJ points out, OSGi has a single-JVM concern space only, so "globally" from its PoV is "just within the JVM" (which can be hard enough). I have not seen any references to 'global' outside of the JVM... I assume that the Enterprise Expert Group will need to address some of this, as many enterprise subsystems will need 'network shared' identifiable objects.
