October 27, CBC News British Columbia (Canada) - Suspicious package spotted at airport. The Canada Customs facility at Vancouver's International Airport was evacuated, after inspectors called police to investigate a suspicious package. The custom facility affected is in the cargo area of the airport, and not near any passenger terminal. "The suspicious goods are described as a hollowed out book with wires coming out of it with batteries," says Canada Border Services Agency spokesperson Faith St. John. "As always the health and safety of our employees and the public are our number one priorities, and we take all security 3 incidents very seriously." St. John says police officers are still determining what the package is, and the building remains off limits until the investigation is complete. The airport authority says no passengers are being affected by the incident.
