(10/28/2004): Explosion Hits Islamabad Hotel, Causes Casualties Reuters Thursday, October 28, 2004; 1:00 PM ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - An explosion hit the Marriott Hotel in the central area of the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Thursday, causing several casualties, witnesses said. Glass and other debris were blown out the front of the hotel and through the lobby, the witnesses said. There was no immediate official word on the cause of the blast, although some hotel staff said they thought it might have been caused by an electrical fault. Blood could be seen on the ground and at least one man was carried out on a stretcher, but he was still alive. After the blast, police moved people out of the lobby because of a suspicious bag.
