Pardon in place; Still time to give up guns http://www.arabtimesonline.com/arabtimes/kuwait3.asp
28 March, 2005 KUWAIT (KUNA): Authorities called on citizens and residents Saturday to turn in unlicensed weapons and take advantage of the state pardon for those who surrender the arms voluntarily. Director-General of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation Brigadier Abdul Hamid Al-Awadi praised, in a statement, citizens who have already surrendered their unlicensed weapons indicating that their cooperation represented a national duty for preserving the national security. Brig Al-Awadi said unlicensed weapons had contributed to most of the recent crimes. He cautioned people who have unlicensed weapons that the law considers unlicensed weapon owners as criminals. Al-Awadi said the names of those who surrender their unlicensed weapons will be kept confidential to bolster mutual cooperation between citizens and security personnel. enditem ------------------------ Yahoo!
