New terrorist cell under way in Europe
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Jun. 4 (UPI) -- A new Islamic terrorist cell is being set up across Europe, a Saudi newspaper said Saturday. Daily al-Watan, quoting a European security source, said the cell has the same Islamic and radical thinking as al-Qaida network, but was not related to it. "The cell is seeking to enlist suicide bombers among Islamists or mercenaries from various nationalities and illegal immigrants in Europe, especially Africans, in order to carry out suicide attacks in Iraq and neighboring countries," the source said. He said European intelligence agencies have been monitoring the movement, telephones and electronic mail of certain suspected cell members in order to reach the cell leader who is believed to be non-Arab. The source also pointed out that sums up to 100,000 euros are being offered to the bombers in addition to guarantees of a decent living to their families. "According to intelligence information, the potential suicide bombers are being supplied with plans and explosives upon their arrival in Iraq on forged passports," the source said. ------------------------ Yahoo!
