Spain arrests Palestinian missile engineer

The Spanish government has arrested an aeronautical engineer who has
designed a new type of Kassam rocket that terrorist groups, including
Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, used to attack Israel.
When he was arrested on May 20, Marwan Ismail Dahman, of Benidorm in
southeast Spain, was in possession of plans and documents that he had
faxed to Lebanon.
He had worked on Spanish military projects in the 1980s and made
improvements on the Kassam-2 rocket after the Israeli army killed its
inventor, Adnan al-Ghul, during a raid in Gaza.
Dahman, a naturalized Palestinian, was arrested after his facsimiles
were intercepted by an intelligence agency in Israel.
The faxes included "plans with technical details for the construction
of a Kassam-type ground-to-ground missile to different terrorist
organizations," judicial sources told Spain's El Pais newspaper.
During a court appearance, Dahman admitted to being in contact with
Hamas and Islamic Jihad and to providing the groups with technical
assistance for the enhancement of Kassam-2s.
