ICE- IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

Over the last, several weeks most of you have probably received an email
regarding "ICE- in case of emergency" cell phone entry. This is not a hoax.

The ICE initiative was started back in April by Bob Brotchie, a clinical
team leader for East Anglian Ambulance Service. The ICE program gained in
momentum after the London bombings on July 7.

Most cell phone users already have an "in case of emergency" number stored
in their phone, programming this number under ICE would only take a minute
to do.

All cell phone users could designate certain numbers in their personal phone
books this way. The ICE number would stand out for rescue personnel in a
personal phone book full of names. If users want more than one ICE number,
they could be designated as ICE 2, or ICE 3.

Please pass this information on to family and friends it may save a life.

Here are some helpful guidelines for the ICE contact entry.

Instructions for ICE entries.

1. Make sure the person you use as your ICE contact is aware of this
fact

2. Please enter both a home and cell phone number for your ICE contact
(during the day the home number may be of no use).

3. If you want to enter more that one ICE contact person, use the
entries ICE 2, ICE 3, etc.

4. Make sure if you are under 18, your ICE contact is your mother,
father, or immediate member of your family that can make decisions on your
behalf.
