Algerian president says determined to eradicate terrorism ALGIERS, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- Algerian president Abdulaziz Bouteflika Sunday reiterated desire to terminate terrorism nationwide and prevent discord from rebirth. "I declare that we will not allow terrorism be reborn and planted again," Bouteflika told a public audience in Skekdeh state, 520 kilometers east of the capital, Algiers. "We will not allow the return of criminal discord and will do our utmost efforts to uproot terrorism from Algeria," added the president. Bouteflika said the national conciliation project would mark a new and decisive beginning for the north African country. The project, he added, "will give us an opportunity to present a new sacrifice enabling us to overcome our suffering and prepare a good future for our country in a peaceful atmosphere." Bouteflika announced last week he would organize a referendum on September 29 on pardoning terrorists. (end) ft.
