PST: Nordic countries also under terrorist threat - It is only a question of time before terrorists will strike against Denmark, Norway or Sweden, says Joern Holme, Chief of the Norwegian Secret Police (PST). He says there are already militant groups in Scandinavia. / np 15.12.2005 08:40 The PST Chief says to Reuters that militant Islamites who are operating in the Nordic countries are exploiting these open and liberal societies, and that they sooner or later will carry out an attack in Scandinavia. - We have in recent time seen an increase in the recruitment to and radicalization of these groups, and this is a new situation, Holme says. Holme points at the danger formed in our society by a poor or lacking integration policy, and say that this may constitute a fertile soil for the formation of networks also in Scandinavia, and asks politicians to be aware of this.
